Rochester's forgiveness

*** Redemption. Everybody deserves another chance, and everybody deserves some amount of forgiveness. Has Rochester redeemed himself by the end? Is he worthy of Jane?

Forgiveness is everyone’s second chance at a new beginning. Jane Eyre is all about fresh starts, and forgiveness. Rochester sticks out the most when thinking about forgiveness. When he first meets Jane he is anything but nice to her, while she still respected him as her boss. And even though he accepts Adele in his home he does not care for her. And lastly Bertha, while he does not send her to an asylum her does have her locked away in his home. However he thinks he is doing her better than harm he’s not.
I think that Rochester has redeemed himself by the end of the story. While his house is set into flames he gets everyone out before himself. This shows that he cares about them and does not want anything to happen to them. And when everyone if out he tries to save Bertha, even though he no longer loves her and had her locked up he did not want her to die so he risks his own life to save her and concludes in her death and him loosing a hand and eye sight.
Is he worthy of forgiveness and Jane? When is anyone worthy of forgiveness? I do think that Rochester is worthy of Jane, because she knows he’s not perfect and neither is she. Just like Jane knew that she is not worthy enough to have a friend like Helen, Helen still befriended her. Rochester is worthy of Jane, but it took Jane leaving for her to discover her self and see how strong she really is to accept Rochester flaws and all. I think that Jane sees the good that he has done even though it is strange. Taking in Adele, even though he constantly says he does not like her or ignores her he still let her stay in his home after the death of her mother. And Bertha even though he has her locked away and lives like he does not have a wife; he did not send her to a asylum where she might have been even worse off.  Even though he tries to marry Jane knowing he is still married she sees past all of that and realizes that he has a  good heart ad love him for it. At the end she still risks going back to him knowing that he married, since she knows that he is her true love.
