What makes the monster in the book Frankenstein a monster? To me there is more then one monster in this book. What I mean by this is that I monster is made-up of someone who could careless about others and is only out for there vengeance. To categorize the monster we first need to look at Dr. Frankenstein. He made the monster out of selfish desire and then when he had got what he had wonted he left him and didn’t think anything of it. Because of this and his actions I didn’t feel that the monster had a good example of human life to go off of. He had known only a harsh birth and nothing else. He wasn’t brought into this world with loving parents, or even with someone who generally cared about him. I feel that this caused him to murder and become someone who thought only of his vengeance. To me I really do believe that it is nurture vs. nature. I myself have been raised in a loving family but at the age of 9 my parents decided to foster and adopt. I can certainly tell you that their parents had a major effect on these kids life.
The monster didn’t have anyone who was there for him or cared, he never had social serves to take him away or rescue him from a life that he should have never had. Because of this and the way that he was brought into the world this caused him to become a monster. It was his mental attitude and his actions to make dr. Frankenstein pay for what he did. It is of course also the fact that he murdered many people. You can only put some of the blame on the creature as well, but most of the fault he needs to take action for.
