The Lydia Bennett story

To me I feel that Lydia Bennett’s flaw is that she has younger child syndrome. This means she desires to be the center of attention at all times. Causing her to take actions that the other children might not have taken before. I also feel that she makes everything with her older siblings a competition, because she thinks that she can “win”. Her mother doesn’t seem to help this problem either because of the fact that she let her come out at the same time as all of the other girls.
I don’t really see Lydia as a warning sign but rather a means to an end! She was made for the soul purpose of being a brat and nothing more. She didn’t show any depth at any point and caused many to look down upon the family. Lydia had no reasoning but did what she felt when she wanted to, and if she didn’t get her way she begged and begged. Her and Elizabeth are very different in so many ways to me Elizabeth is more reserved and very bright. Her and Lydia are the complete opposite other then the fact that they both fight for what they want (Although Lydia’s fight was a lot different then Elizabeth’s).
The movie portrays Lydia as just the younger sister who made a fool or about to make a fool of the family and really nothing more. But in the book I feel that Jane Austin goes more with her character making her notice at all points, and her voice heard. To me Lydia is like most younger siblings, they want what they want when they want it. She is exactly like many people today. She fights to be heard and if she’s not, she sure as hell is going to find away.
